ALONE WITH YOU Coming to PS4 and PS Vita in 2015

Announced at 2014’s PAX, Alone With You is the next game from Benjamin Rivers, independent developer of the small, pixel-art style horror game Home, which was highly praised by several video game websites such as Polygon and Joystiq, and graphic novel Snow, which is being adapted into a film.

Alone With You is set in a sci-fi universe in which the player takes the role of the last surviving member of a doomed terraforming colony. The player must work with the colony’s artificial intelligence systems to repair the singular remaining escape pod within a month, or the player will die as the planet implodes.

Luckily, the AI can also replicate dead members of the colony with the specialized skills to repair the escape pod, and with their guidance the player will learn how to fix it and escape. The game will feature exploration, adventure, and even romance mechanics, though developer Rivers stated in an interview with Polygon in March that he will play with those mechanics and tropes of dating sims to expand what the genre can do. Through exploring the game’s approximately six areas, players will be able to uncover bits and pieces of the colony’s past and its inhabitants.

While Home is available for Windows, Mac, and the iOS App Store (and coming soon to Playstation), Alone With You is going to be exclusively for the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita consoles. Although still early in development, the game is slated for a 2015 release.

Development for Alone With You can be followed on Benjamin River’s dev blog, as well as Facebook and Twitter. Readers can also subscribe to the game’s mailing list on its main website.
