MORTAL KOMBAT X Release Date Konfirmed

On September 5 a firm release date was announced for Mortal Kombat X stating it will be released worldwide on April 14, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, & PC.

Old characters are set to return in the latest title, such as Scorpion and Sub Zero, as well as some new characters such as D’Vorah, Ferra/Torr, Cassie Cage and Kotal Kahn. At E3 2014, it was confirmed that the story begins from the end of the 2011 Mortal Kombat and will fast forward to twenty-five years into the future.

Also confirmed would be the return of the character Goro from the original Mortal Kombat game when you pre-order the game from select retailers, depending on location. As much as Ed Boon (co-creator of Mortal Kombat) no doubt understands the appeal of keeping series veteran fighters in the roster, it was very important to introduce brand new characters in this latest title. The roster would also be further expanded with DLC characters like in the past. At Gamescom 2014, IGN reported on details about the game from Ed Boon himself in regards to everything mentioned here and then some in more detail.

The thrill of being able to bring over a friend, or challenge someone online, all to be able to perform a Fatality (or other “ality” of choice) as a reward can be enjoyed early next year. Mortal Kombat X will be officially released to all on April 14 2014.
