Modding Monthly: FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS — Project Nevada

As a frequent modder, I find that many files vie for my attention with flashy textures or promises of much-needed gameplay tweaks yet few have ever had the privilege of becoming the top endorsed file for Fallout: New Vegas on the Nexus Mods site, so without further adieu I introduce to you, the captivated audience, Project Nevada brought to us by schlangster.

Perhaps one of the best gameplay overhauls for Obsidian’s installment in the venerable Fallout series, Project Nevada adds functions like sprinting and bullet time to the world of New Vegas and integrates a plethora of in-game weapons and benefits including a rather intuitive Cyberware system consisting of cybernetic implants that the player can accrue through their travels of the Mojave wastes.

Before installing the mod, however, make sure that you have the latest version of New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE) installed considering that it allows for the sprint and bullet time mechanics to function properly and, as with any mod, ensure that you have a mod-free clean save available should an error occur and you are left with a game that crashes on start-up. If you are having any issues with compatibility be sure to check out their Project Nevada Patches as it contains patches for some of the Nexus’s more popular files as well as for the official DLC, too.

With that, Project Nevada receives this author’s shining recommendation for this first installment of The Modder’s Report so be sure to give it a well needed install and a well-earned endorsement.
