WYTCHES #1 Sells Over 90K Copies In One Month

Image Comics announced on November 4 that the dark horror comic Wytches has sold over 90,000 copies of its first issue, released last month. The California-based publisher told Comic Book Resources that between its first two printings, the issue has sold 92,131 copies.

In statements to CBR, the book’s creative team, writer Scott Snyder (Batman) and artist Jock (Judge Dredd) expressed their surprise at the news. Snyder said, “Wytches‘ is a pretty uncompromisingly personal and dark book […] Really, we’re both overwhelmed.

Jock added, “It speaks volumes about the appetite of readers, who are clearly happy to support creator owned books as much as company led monthliesIt’s a great balance!

Wytches has also been optioned into a film by production company Bad Regency and Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B. The second issue of Wytches will be released both physically and digitally on Nov. 12.
