SUICIDE SQUAD Film Allegedly Casts WOLF OF WALL STREET’s Margot Robbie As Harley Quinn

On November 10, it was reported that Australian actress Margot Robbie has been cast in Warner Bros’ upcoming Suicide Squad movie as Harley Quinn. This comes on the heels of reports suggesting that Jared Leto is in talks to play the Joker in the film. Robbie, best known for her role in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, would be, if this report is true, the first to portray Harley Quinn in live action.

Created by writer John Ostrander and artist Ryan Scott in 1987 (and sharing a name with an unrelated 1960s team), the Suicide Squad is a black-ops team made up of incarcerated DC super villains who undertake life-threatening missions for the US government in exchange for commuted prison sentences. Quinn, created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini in 1992 for Batman: The Animated Series, has been a fixture of the team since the comic book publisher’s 2011 reboot, “The New 52.”
