New PEANUTS Movie Trailer Released; Christmas 2015 Release Date Announced

Blue Sky Studios has unveiled the first trailer for their highly anticipated new animated feature film starring Charles M. Schulz’s iconic Peanuts characters. The film, titled The Peanuts Movie, will be released to theaters Christmas 2015. This will be the first 3D animated film to feature Charlie Brown, Snoopy and other Peanuts characters. The Escapist notes that The Peanuts Movie will be the first Peanuts film released in theaters since Snoopy, Come Home in 1972.

The film is directed by Steve Martino (Horton Hears A Who) from a screenplay by Bryan Schulz, Craig Schulz (the grandson and son of Charles M. Schulz respectively) and Cornelius Uliano. Craig Schulz previously wrote the 2011 direct-to-video special Happiness Is A Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown with cartoonist Stephen Pastis (Pearls Before Swine).  The Escapist reports Martino as saying the film will feature Charlie Brown’s iconic love interest, the “Little Red-Haired Girl.”
