New AVATAR: LAST AIRBENDER Graphic Novels Coming in 2015

Another entry in the critically acclaimed original graphic novel (OGN) series based on Avatar: The Last Airbender will be released in 2015, according to a report made on December 1, 2014 by Comic Book Resources. Dark Horse Comics will publish “Smoke And Shadow,” by the series’ regular creative team of writer Gene Luen Yang and artists Gurihiru in three installments beginning September 23, 2015.

Like the three previous entries, “Smoke And Shadow” takes place between Avatar and Legend of Korra. In an exclusive interview with CBR, Yang revealed the OGN will focus on a rebellion in the Fire Nation against Fire Lord Zuko.

All entries in the Avatar series have been written and drawn in coordination with franchise creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. Yang’s most recent original work, the two-part historical fiction graphic novel Boxers & Saints, was a National Book Award finalist and a 2013 Los Angeles Times Book Prize winner.
