First TERMINATOR: GENISYS Trailer Released

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Terminator: Genisys, their reboot of the Terminator franchise set for release on July 1, 2015. The trailer release is the culmination of a two-day countdown campaign, as reported by Spinoff Online.

The film, directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Game Of Thrones), is an inversion of the iconic 1984 original directed by James Cameron. Genisys, like the original, involves future resistance leader John Conner (Jason Clarke) sending back loyal troop Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to save his mother Sarah (Emilia Clarke) from a Terminator programmed by rogue AI Skynet to kill her. However, once Reese arrives, he learns that Sarah was actually orphaned by a Terminator at a young age and raised by an older T-600 model she calls “Pops” (Arnold Schwarzenegger). Matt Smith (Doctor Who) also stars, but is not present in the trailer.
