DC Comics Cancels 13 Titles

DC Comics has announced through its March 2015 solicitations that 13 ongoing series and 3 weekly series will all end that month. The mass culling is speculated to tie into the publisher’s already-announced Convergence, a line-wide crossover that will involve several other titles being put on hiatus for 2-issue miniseries set on a variety of parallel worlds from the publisher’s history.

Among the many canceled titles include Klarion, a fantasy-adventure book about Klarion the Witch Boy that launched back in October and three titles in the Green Lantern line, Red Lanterns, Green Lantern Corps, and Green Lantern: New Guardians. All three books have been published continuously since DC’s “New 52” began in 2011.

Also canceled is Batwoman, a title that has seen a fair amount of controversy in its lifetime, due to a highly public creator walk-out and a storyline criticized for having overtones of rape. A full list of cancelled titles is available at Newsarama.
