Long Running Webcomic GIRLS WITH SLINGSHOTS To End Next Year

In a December 29, 2014 update, Danielle Corsetto, creator of the popular webcomic Girls With Slingshots, revealed that her acclaimed slice-of-life strip will end in the next few months. Corsetto explained in the update that she’s had this planned since last January and plans to pursue an in-depth art education to better improve her work. This comes as GWS celebrates its 10th anniversary, which Corsetto commemorated by going on a crowdfunded cross-country road trip/signing tour.

The cartoonist also revealed that as soon as the strip ends, old strips–newly colored by the strip’s full-time colorist Laeluu–will rerun with new hover text and commentary on the same Monday to Friday schedule as the current strip. GWS follows a wide cast of characters including frustrated writer Hazel, her best friend Jamie and talking cactus McPedro. The strip has been reprinted in several collections from TopatoCo.
